ACD is a woman headed organization and started its endeavor in development sector since 1989. ACD works for women’s participation in democracy, access to the right to information, promoting safe migration and decent work, and changing the social attitude towards women and girls to protect them from gender-based violence. ACD’s programmes attempts to bring about changes in existing policies and to create new policies on gender mainstreaming at the community level through engaging men and boys.

 

Objectives

  • Establish the rights of women and children through community support mechanism.
  • Ensure access to social justice for rural women especially ethnic minorities, indigenous communities.
  • Develop institutional capacity on good governance and accountability of local government.
  • Strengthen advocacy and campaign against human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation of children.
  • Provide psychosocial support for the violence victims and migrant returnees through institutional care.
  • Mobilization of communities in availing of social safety net program.
  • Initiate economic, social and cultural activities for sustainable development.
